Apples & Oranges
In the land of Fruitistan, there live two kinds of people - the 'Applers' and the 'Orangees'. Both the communities keep to themselves and exchange only hate with each other. Lines start to blur when two twelve-year-olds Tulip and Daisy accidentally become friends. When Tulip learns about Daisy's desire to win the Young Botanist Show, she willingly helps her as she shares the same love for nature. However, their friendship soon turns sour when they discover that one of them is an 'Appler' and the other an 'Orangee'. Preconceived notions, biases, media reports and social networking negatively influence both girls. Daisy finally digs deeper to find out the cause of this community hatred and realises how over time a small difference has festered into violence and hatred. Tulip's grandmother's advice helps her realise that differences can be overcome through dialogue. Both girls realise that their friendship is something far more valuable than their differences.
